Stylish and Safe Biking 2
Today we launched our “stylish and safe biking” collection in co-creation mat Bamboo Belgium. It was a very nice morning with an enthusiastic gang of Fluo cyclists. “ooh no, so much rain …. Rain all day” this were my first words this morning. It couldn’t have been worse. My weather app only predicted rain, rain and more rain. Why rain? It had to be a great day! At 10.30 we would meet the press people on the ‘cycling through the trees’ trail in Hechtel-Eksel. We would heave a have a photoshoot as well. But nothing would stop my enthusiasm. We had to stay dry, it had to! It would not rain between 10.30 am and noon. I believe it and kept this thought in my mind all morning. Even when we were driving on the highway under the pouring rain. It took two full hours to drive from Antwerp to Limburg …
The rain started to decrease around 10 am. And at 10.30 it stopped completely. We got on our bikes, totally dry. It was a great experience with a whole group of Fluo cyclists riding to the bicycle bridge. We gave short interviews and then the moment finally arrived. With the whole gang we cycled up the bridge, higher and higher up between the treetops.
This image will forever be a thing of the past. From now on we will be seen wen riding a bike. Because visibility is important for cycling children in the first place. I cannot change anything about the traffic jungle. What I can do, is teach my son, even though he is just a toddler, about the dangers of traffic. Learn him how to behave: walking on the footpath, that is gray, cycling on the cycle path, that is red. I can also ensure that he is well noticed by other road users.

These days, mommy’s also enjoy driving to work by bike. Only the clothing that makes you feel comfortable on a bike, feels usually not so comfortable in a meeting. Imagine that it was possible to comfortably make your morning bike ride and then immediately start your working day, without feeling sweaty and totally dressed-up. Amazing, right?
